The History of Astro U.P.

After pounding nails for 20 years, Arnie Elliott had a dream. A dream of providing top quality building products at competitive prices. A dream of making a decent living for himself and his employees. A dream that became reality in the mid 1980’s when Arnie, along with his wife Candy purchased the old Rock School and converted it into what we now know as Astro UP.

There was a new place in Upper Michigan to go for quality siding, energy-efficient windows, entry doors, and building supplies and Arnie made sure to partner with only the best! However, it wasn’t only the quality products that set Astro UP apart, it was the people! With every sale, Arnie gained a new friend with his compassionate approach, closing the deal with a smile and a firm handshake.

Sadly, Arnie has passed on to the big walleye lake in the sky, but his dream lives on at Astro UP! Over 3 decades later, we are still a family business, locally owned and operated by Jennifer and Aaron. We still offer high quality products, friendly and knowledgeable service with a smile, and are just as passionate about your project as you are! Perhaps, that’s why contractors and homeowners still take the scenic drive to Astro U.P. in Rock. We are so honored to be carrying on Arnie’s legacy and we know he’d be proud!
